Ninth Foundation Day of CMS celebrated on February 3, 2011

The Centre celebrated its Ninth Foundation Day at its premises today. February 3 is observed as the Foundation Day of the Centre as it was on this day in 2003 that CMS commenced its operations with the first batch of MBA (FT) students. The 1st foundation was observed in 2004. The foundation day was graced by two honourable Board Members, Mr. B P Bakshi and Mr. Manoj Jalan along with two former Directors, Prof. Pranjal Bezborah, the founder Director-in-charge and Prof. K C Borah. The Centre's flag was hoisted by Mr. Bakshi in the presence of the guests, Director-in-charge (Hony.), Prof. Homeswar Goswami, other faculty members and support staff besides the students. The hoisting was followed up by his brief speech and the cutting of the Foundation Day cake. The rest of the function was held in the Seminar Hall of the Centre. The students sang the CMS Theme Song to start proceedings in the hall. Prof. Goswami in his welcome speech called upon everybody to take stock of what has been achieved by the Centre till date and what should be the goals of the future. Mr. Jalan in his speech exhorted the students to follow two Cs - Competence and Character to make a succes of their life while Mr. Bakshi stressed on ethical behiviour of the to be managers. Prof. Bezborah and Prof. Borah fondly recalled their association with the Centre. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Rajan Bhandari. Light refreshments were served at the end. The entire function was anchored by Ms. Tripti Saikia. Mr. Bhandari and Ms. Saikia are students of the MBA (FT) 2011 Batch.
